Different places affects how the characters will think, will do, and will say. because of the limitation from different locations it may change how each character will react to different situations thus making the story take another path that can have the same or different ending.
Plot
Exposition: It was the month of
June where Karen and Miko are still living their life as boyfriend girlfriend
situation in their 20’s. This month of June Karen and Miko is invited to a wedding
occasion of Tonette and Jake. But miko can’t remember who are they then Karen
told him about their past when he is in his 22’s
Flashback:
In an apartment in Katipunan where
they met and become flatmates with jake and tonette. And where Tonette and Jake
develop their relationship and how every three months the parents of tonette
would visit the apartment.
At
church where the wedding is taking place before the occasion, Karen will be
having a new partner because miko is nowhere to be found and is cooling his
head off but Karen needs a partner because they will be sponsoring the veil so
the coordinator search for a substitute for Miko. The coordinator finds Bert Reyno
and introduces him to Karen to be the partner of the veil sponsor and when the
wedding ends Miko shows up and declares that the two of two are going home.
Rising action: At the office Karen received an email from Mrs.
Palabrica that the newly-purchased, state-of-the-art Xerox machine broke down
and that it broke down from the weight of two people and that it might also
have been rocked because one wheel is missing. When Miko stayed at her
apartment and are doing their things she suddenly says “How very Xerox machine”,
and Miko answered “You want to marry me”.
After
three days Karen can’t contain her happiness so she looked for her best friend Janice
but she can’t find Janice instead Cynthia is there bugging her that she has
something to tell her but they only discuss things about sex life and her
wishful desire. Now that Karen has a willing audience she told Cynthia about Karen
told Cynthia about their two years of relationship
Flashback: two years ago when Karen was
still a lame copywriter working for a greeting card company, where Miko talked
to her about having yourself a life, where he hold her hand through night over
a coffee, where he teaches her how to smoke and to enjoy everyday life with
him.
On
weekends Karen plans to have a lunch with her parents with Miko to announce that
you are getting married but Miko insist so Karen murmured something so he
agrees to come with her at her parents’ house and so she announces that they
are engage and receive a blessing from her father.
When
Karen will announce that they were engage to her friends, Miko is missing so
they talked about what happened in Tonettes wedding and about Bert Reyno who
seemed like a gay so Karen suddenly interrupted the conversation with “Miko proposed!
I’m engage!” her friends are surprised and congratulated her. But her friends
are worried because Miko doesn’t give her anything after he proposes and they
celebrate the night.
At
that night Karen called Miko and discussed about telling his mom about their
engagement but he said that he can’t think about that for now because of that she
throws her cell phone to the wall. Karen is suspecting Miko that something
fishy is happening but she doesn’t want to accuse him without evidence.
Climax: Karen and miko went to underwear store and looked
for a perfect birthday gift for her sister Pam after purchasing what she have
picked miko is still paying for an item. Sticking to her habit of keeping receipts
she accidentally takens mikos receipt and wondered why it says “Come on down
panty” and when she asked miko, he answered “Ano kaba Police?” but she treated
it as a bad joke.
During
a presentation Karen is frustrated and her creative director says he’s not
kidding that he will give her 6 out of 100 in her evaluation score. Because of frustration
she excused herself to go the ladies room. In the ladies room she kicked a door
and it accidentally hits someone’s head and apologize.
In
the ladies room the cubicle door that Karen kicked accidentally hits Cynthia and
says she’s okay when Karen apologized and pulled her panty in front of Karen,
and she is just standing there at the door stunned when she have read “Come on
down” from the thongs of Cynthia.
Karen
doesn’t want to accuse miko so she called out to miko that they need to talk,
when miko arrive she wants to examine if miko is guilty so she shows miko the
panty that Cynthia used and asked him “Did you buy this for her?” miko is in
shock and says “Where did you…” and she told him that she got it from cynthia in
the cubicle. She asked again “Are you having an affair with Cynthia?” and she
asked again if he have slept with Cynthia. Miko can’t answer but he is
complaining about how she doesn’t give him credit for everything he has done
for her. She bluffed and told him that Cynthia have already confessed and still
miko became silent so that it means it happened and that he screw Cynthia in
the Xerox machine.
Falling action: After their discussion Karen broke up with
miko and for two days after their breakup Karen locked herself in her bedroom doesn’t
care of what is happening to the world she is in her own world heartbroken, lonely
and overwhelmed of what happened. After some days she tries to move on from the
impact of what miko has done to her and her life. She changes her everyday life
to forget about miko, trying new things, going out with her friends, signing up
in a dating circuit just to mend the scar that her heart have felt from the betrayal.
After
their break miko is sorry and is guilty of what he has done, trying to recover
the relationship he has destroyed. When miko flirts with Karen, he never fails
to turn on Karen so they made love but this time miko is doing everything and
letting her rest.
After
that night Karens mom in her apartment, she brought food because she noticed
that her daughter have been losing weight lately. Before her mother leaves she
told Karen “Buti na lang you’re thinking of yourself now”.
When
Karen is chatting with her friends, Camille and dino said that they have seen
miko with another girl doing private thing in the public and he disappeared
when they got closer to miko. At that night Karen and her friends drink then
just go home after telling everyone that she is feeling pukey and she needs to
go home. After that day It’s eight in the morning when Karen woke up because of
a weird dream about her mom saying “Yan ba ang being nice to yourself?”.
After
the backslide she decided to be nice to herself by doing a makeover for herself
,deliver glorious presentation to the clients, and have a date with friends and
have fun, to forget miko and keep herself away from him to be happy.
Resolution: While having fun with her friends they planned a
date for her and this time her partner is the gay Bert Reyno. After the date Bert
reyno and Karen instantaneously becomes friends they are always together in
shopping, watching movie, hanging and they become best friends.
It’s
V-day and Karen, Bert and other singles are going into singles-only anti-valentine
party, at the club when Bert is introduced by a friend Karen resist to tell
everyone that Bert is gay. Halfway into the the dinner when Bert goes to the bathroom Dino ask Karen if they
are dating already, the shocked Karen told Dino that Bert is gay then Dino answered
that “how come he is gay if he asked me to set him up with you”.
That
night when Bert accompanies Karen home, she is confused and asked Bert if he is
a gay. Bert answered with some cheesy lines, she confirms it by observing him
while he cracks jokes, and while he talks, she notice that he is stuttering and
can’t seem to look at her eye while flirting. After that night they sleep
together doing what they always have done from the start and accepts the fact that
it already happened.
Character
Major:
Karen: the protagonist of the story. [Dynamic] after breaking with miko she change her everyday lifestyle for her own good.
Miko: Karen's boyfriend. He is prideful and unresponsible, he doesn't care about anybody except for himself and his lust. [Dynamic] after karen broke up with him, his personality changed into more less prideful but more pitiful and his irresponsibleness didn't change
Janice: a friend and a coworker of karen who hates men and likes cute women. She is against karen and mikos relationship. she is really chatty and talks about anything from rumours to problems, she sticks herself anywhere even with others problem but she is really a good friend who can't seem to stop her overpowering personality. Cynthia: She is a girl that is like a granny because of her old fashion sense and her nags. she looks docile but when she chats, she chats about her wishful illusions and others sex life and she don't know how to read the mood. she is also a coworker of karen. [Static]
Robert Redford Reyno: also known as Bert Reyno, He is handsome and somewhat gay. [Dynamic] at the past he is known for being a rocker but at the present day he looks normal and gayish. also after karen learns that he is not a gay his image and behavior changed into more
Minor
Tonette & jake: The couple friend of miko. and known each others way back after his college days.
Dino, Camille, Malu, Pam, Cholo & Pj: Karens friends who also help her to recover from being brokenhearted.
Jake: A close friend of karen that she hangs out with.
Arnaud:A very forward 30-year-old frenchman, who plays basketball and are friends with jake

-Karen trying to do anything for miko yet miko betrayed her and even impregnate another woman.
-Karen doesn't want to accuse miko but he lies and hide everything from her.

Point of View: First Person View, because the story is told from what the protagonist or the narrator is seeing, observing and experiencing.

Themes and Symbolism
Just like in the story at the present world today relationships comes and goes fast, if partners lies and doesn't trust each other their relationship will crumble easily no matter how long they have been together.
After stumbling it is hardest to stand up. with some hands helping it is easier to stand up and move your feet again. There maybe some scars left from the fall but these scars will heal and serve its purpose to teach you not to trip again. also the pain you will experience will help you learn how not stay from the same place and makes you realize that you need to move forward.
